In the second Pit Boost race of the season, Wehrlein circulated towards the front of the field throughout the 23-lap E-Prix at the Jarama circuit in Spain after starting sixth. The former World Champion was able to snatch the final podium position from Ticktum exiting the last corner, using the highly efficient Porsche 99X Electric and having also suffered rear end damage from an earlier collision.
The rostrum is Wehrlein’s third of the season having also finished in the points every race this campaign, allowing the German to extend his lead in the Drivers’ Championship to 11 points. Müller claimed his fifth points finish of the season and fastest lap, helping Porsche maintain its lead in the teams’ and manufacturers’ standings.
DP World becomes new partner of the Porsche factory team
The Porsche Formula E Team lined up in Madrid for the first time with its new partner, DP World. The globally active specialist for end‑to‑end supply chain solutions will support the factory team from now on as its Official Logistics Partner. Operating across six continents and with a team of more than 125,000 employees, DP World combines global infrastructure with local expertise, creating seamless pathways for international trade.
Taycan Turbo GT ‟Formula E World Champion”
Porsche presented a one-off Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package during the race weekend. The all-electric sports car, bearing the nickname ‟Formula E World Champion,” reflects the distinctive colours of the Porsche factory team. Since the 2024/2025 season, the lilac shade ‟Purple Sky” in particular has symbolised the transfer of technology from track to road – and vice versa. Refinements in the team’s design language characterise the Taycan. With the ‟Sonderwunsch” customisation programme, Porsche clients can also create one-off vehicles. The offering ranges from individual colours and materials to fully bespoke, tailor-made cars.
Racing for Charity
Under the motto Racing for Charity, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG is making a strong social statement in the current Formula E season, supporting seriously ill children worldwide. For every race lap completed by its two factory-run Porsche 99X Electric, the Stuttgart-based sports car manufacturer donates 400 euros to the charitable organizations Kinderherzen retten e.V., Interplast Germany e.V., and the Ferry Porsche Foundation. After Pascal Wehrlein and Nico Müller completed the maximum number of laps at the sixth race of the season in Madrid, the donation amount stands at 155,200 Euro.
Comments on the Madrid E-Prix
Florian Modlinger, Director Factory Motorsport Formula E: ‟This was a strong race day. After qualifying, which was not problem-free as we had a technical issue on Pascal’s car which needs to be investigated properly, we only started from P6. Nico did not have the grip he expected and was only P13. But we achieved valuable points in all three championships. It was also a good result for Cupra Kiro at their home race. Considering the weather conditions, the packed grandstands and the strong support from the government, this was an amazing event. We look forward to racing here again. Now we switch our focus to the doubleheader in front of our home crowd in Berlin. We’re very much looking forward to it.”
Pascal Wehrlein, Porsche factory driver (#94): ‟What a race! After three or four laps I thought it was over when Nyck de Vries hit me, because it caused quite a lot of damage. The whole rear wing was leaning down and touching the tyre. I didn’t know how the car would perform, but it was still okay – I just had less rear grip. Given the pace the others had towards the end with the damage on my car, I more or less accepted P4. But I kept pushing to stay as close as possible to the top three in case something happened and I could take advantage. And that’s exactly what happened in the final chicane. Normally, I’m not someone who gets super excited about P3. But with the circumstances we had today, I’m more than happy.”
Nico Müller, Porsche factory driver (#51): ‟It was action‑packed as usual in Formula E, and around this track there was a lot of fighting, but we made it through. Pascal on the podium is very positive, and I also managed to climb up a few places to P8 with the fastest lap. But I felt like there was more in it today. I think we should have had both cars fighting for the podium, but we had a bit of an issue in qualifying and just fell out of the window after feeling really strong in practice. That was a bit frustrating, because I think we had a good chance today to score bigger points.”

Next up: Rookie test with Güven and Weiss
As early as Sunday morning, the Formula E teams will return to the track for the official Rookie Test, which is a mandatory test day. The so-called rookies have not yet completed a full Formula E race season and are given track time in the current championship cars to familiarise themselves with the specific characteristics of the all-electric series. In recent years, the Rookie Test has taken place in Berlin, but this season, Formula E is extending its race weekend in Madrid. As in the previous outing, Turkish factory driver Ayhancan Güven (28) and 16-year-old German driver Elia Weiss will drive for the Porsche Formula E Team.
The next E-Prix will take place on 2 and 3 May for rounds 7 and 8 of the season in the German capital Berlin, where the Porsche Formula E Team will celebrate its home race.
Porsche in Formula E
As the reigning Teams’ and Manufacturers’ World Champion, Porsche contests its seventh Formula E season in 2025/2026. In addition to the factory Porsche Formula E Team, the US customer team Andretti Formula E competes with the highly efficient Porsche 99X Electric of the latest generation GEN3 Evo. A second Porsche customer team, Cupra Kiro, also participates, relying on 99X technology from the previous generation GEN3. In Formula E, the brand gains valuable insights for its production sports cars.
